TIA: Do I Need To Scan Urgently? (especially in resource poor setting)

In summary,

Outpatient

-Calculate the ABCD2 score.

-It will predict the risk of stroke in 2,7, & 90 days.

-Low risk: score 2 and less.

-if low risk, give STAT dose of T. Clopidogrel 300mg STAT. Discharge with 1/12 T. Cardiprin 100mg OD, T. Simvastatin 40mg ON.

-TCA MOPD in 1/52 for specialist assessment and they will decide whether need CT scan or not.

Inpatient

-high score, high risk

-cresendo TIA

-symptoms not resolve

-high risk patient
