Definition:

Cold case – more than 72 hours

Take specimen only for treatment e.g: VDRL, HIV, Syphilis

Fresh case – less than 72 hours

Take specimen for treatment and indictment e.g : DNA, Alcohol, etc

AGE:

Children : below 18

Statutory rape : below 16

PEP:

Copper IUD

T Levonorgestrel 1.5g OD

T Doxycycline – Chlamydia

T Metronidazole – Gonnorhea

Tube:

K2EDTA- DNA

Plain- VDRL, HIV, syphilis

Sodium Oxalate (kelabu)- alcohol

Special circumstances:

collapse at home. CPR at ED. Not revive at any point. Consider BID. Need for police report.

collapse at home. CPR at ED. Revive. Then die. Consider DID. No need police report. Can produce COD.

Take note:

-Record every case in “buku kendalian kes”

-write report number in each page.

-external physical examination by ED team.

-sample collection must with police present

-if patient unstable, stabilize patient first.

FAQ:

If family didn’t want to make police report, staff or doctor can log the report.
